Commemorative Awards

At the 2008 Awards ceremony, the Guild presented two Commemorative Awards to recognise special achievements in the world of garden communication. These were presented to: Garden News' Editor Neil Pope, to celebrate 50 years of this weekly publication; and Gwyneth Hardy, Producer of The Beechgrove Garden, to celebrate the TV programme's 30th birthday.

Three other birthdays, outside the media arena, were also noted: the 30th anniversary of NCCPG Plant Heritage; the National Gardens Scheme who celebrated 80 years last year; and another of our sponsors, Briggs & Stratton, which marked its centenary.
