April 15

Giving a Talk Workshop
The Hudson Room, The Farmers Club, Whitehall, London

Cost to Guild members £20. Numbers strictly limited.
Catherine Dell will cover preparation, planning, selecting images (for an illustrated talk), practice, voice-production. There will be a practical session where each participant gives a brief talk, such as at an opening of an illustrated talk, an introduction to a book presentation or welcoming visitors to a garden tour.

 

April 29

Briefing Day for a preview of the Garden Trail
Visiting five gardens within 30 minutes of each other

The day starts with welcome and coffee at the Lucy Redman School of Garden Design, Rushbrooke, Suffolk. Then it’s on to Langham Walled Garden, which boasts a National Collection of Campanulas. Next visit Langham Herbs and organic vegetables.
There’s a light lunch at Wyken Hall plus the chance to view a large country garden and vineyard. Finally, in the afternoon visit the Kitchen Garden.
There’s no charge for the day and photography is permitted.

 

August 11

Plant Nomenclature Day with Susyn Andrews

Venue to be confirmed
This will be an intermediate presentation, with the morning spent looking more deeply into the subject of plant names and naming. The afternoon will be spent out in the garden looking at practical examples of the morning’s session.

Gardening Direct

Gardening Direct has its nurseries in Jersey where it grows all its mail order plug plants. GMG members are invited to visit the growing facilities.

Rose Garden at The Savill Garden

The new Rose Garden at The Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park, will open to the public in mid-June. Mark Flanagan, The Keeper of the Gardens, invites GMG members to the Press Day on June 14.

Adrian Bloom’s Press Event
Bressingham Gardens, Diss, Norfolk

This will be a day of inspiration, photo opportunities and useful information for future articles. Adrian Bloom presents a very special press event about plants, gardens and gardening.
