PR Officer for Plant Heritage
(pro-rata £20,000)

Plant Heritage, the cultivated plant conservation charity responsible for the National Collections scheme, is looking to recruit a PR Officer. The focus of the role is to ensure the effective, consistent and proactive internal and external communication of the charity through the press and national website, including a new partnership with Hozelock.

Based near Guildford in Surrey, it is a part-time role of 15 hours per week and while the actual hours/days of working can be negotiated, the working week should include Tuesday.

Experienced Gardening Writer/Editor

Initial four-month contract – competitive salary

A new online, social marketplace for gardeners to be launched mid-2012, seeks an experienced Gardening Writer/Editor to develop website content. This includes: Plant A-Z (copy and photo sourcing), features on growing, propagation and time-of-year activities, and items on global conservation issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ‘hands-on’ approach, demonstrable plant knowledge and gardening know-how, talent at communicating techniques simply and well, flair with writing engaging, impactful copy, and a willingness to ‘muck-in’ with what is needed to help launch a new type of digital, gardening service.

There is opportunity for the chosen candidate to progress to a longer term role with the service.
