Biography

I am a British freelance photographer specialising in plant and garden photography for private clients and those in the horticulture and floristry industries. I'm based on the Hertfordshire & North London border, and regularly cover London, the Home Counties and beyond Aside from gardens, I have a keen interest in photographing people, places and commercial projects I teach 1:1 flower photography workshops in-person and online for those wishing to increase their skills, and speak at events about my photography I have an online print shop and an extensive catalogue of photographic greeting cards which are stocked in retailers across the UK, Europe & North America My debut solo exhibition was held at Myddelton House Gardens in September 2021

Additional Interests

My academic background is in History of Art, having achieved a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree. Other interests include theatre, cooking, tennis, and engaging with my followers on social media around all things photography and flowers.

Talks: 'The Art of Flower Photography' Marina Walker is a professional garden and flower photographer based in Hertfordshire and presents her talk ‘The Art of Flower Photography’. During her presentation, Marina will share what led her to specialise in this genre and discuss various types of floral photography, including 'plant portraits', gardens, and still-life. Topics covered will include techniques for finding compelling floral compositions, working effectively with light, mastering selective focus, and insights into her editing process. The session will conclude with a Q&A session.
