This promises to be a really memorable visit for Guild members.
We will be given a tour of the River Cottage garden by Head Gardener Helen Musgrave and then take part in a seasonal workshop with a River Cottage chef. After that we will enjoy a delicious complimentary lunch that the River Cottage team is providing for us.
Our visit will start at 10am and end at approximately 2pm.
In the afternoon, we are invited to visit Little Ash Bungalow in Honiton (pictured below), the one-and-a-half acre garden owned by Helen Brown. Many of you will already know Helen from her very popular Twitter feed, @littleashgarden. Her garden, designed with wildlife in mind, is packed with unusual herbaceous perennials, trees and shrubs. There is a natural stream, a pond and a damp woodland area, as well as an alpine garden. Helen will take us on a tour of the garden and is kindly providing afternoon tea. We will also get a tool-sharpening demo from Niwaki and have a chance to look at its range of tools. The visit will end at about 5pm.
This trip is free to members and we expect it to be very popular, so unfortunately only GMG members can book for it, though depending on numbers it may be possible to bring a guest to Little Ash Cottage (but this can't be confirmed until early July). There are no restrictions on photography.
This visit is bound to be extremely popular, and early booking will be essential.
