For the company, media outlet (eg magazine/newspaper) or charity that has grown their reputation for their gardening knowledge and expertise via social media channels. These include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Tiktok, blogging, podcasting, YouTube or other platforms.
For material published between Friday, 30th August 2024 and Thursday, 28th August 2025.
The Brand Social Media Communicator of the Year inspires, informs or educates people about gardening, beyond the use of their own products or publicity for their brand. Posts generate an engaged and interactive following as well as raising awareness for the brand, media outlet or charity.
Entry is open to all and is free to GMG members; a fee of £45 is applicable to non-member entrants. To qualify for free entry, someone who worked on the entry must be a GMG member.
Which Social Media Category Should I Enter?
If you are a media professional whose social media is in your own name but is managed by a team, should you enter Brand or Individual category? The decision is left to the entrant, although if more than 50% of the content is produced by others, then Brand would be more appropriate. However, the entry will count as an entry in your name (one of your four entries) and you may not enter both Individual and Brand.
For example, Fred Smith is an author and influencer. His social media profiles are called ‘Fred Smith’ and are managed by a team or company with input from Fred, although he leaves questions and comments to the team. He enters it for Brand Social Media Influencer of the Year. This counts as one of Fred Smith’s three permitted entries to the Awards.
Mary Smith is a photographer and influencer. Her social media profiles are called ‘Mary Smith’ and are mainly handled by a social media freelancer. However, Mary decides which photos are to feature and makes a point of checking or answering many questions and comments herself. She enters Individual Social Media Influencer of the Year.
Current Entry Deadline: 28 August 2025 23:59
