For the best short film, video or segment of a programme (3-20 minutes long), published on UK terrestrial TV, global TV streaming platforms or an online video platform such as YouTube. It should be publicly available, with or without a fee. It should inspire, educate and/or inform the viewer on any aspect of gardening, generating high quality feedback and comments from viewers.
For material broadcast/available online between Friday, 30th August 2024 and Thursday, 28th August 2025.
The video or programme segment will be engaging, thought-provoking and informative, with accurate information about gardening or plants appropriate to its target audience and going beyond ‘quick tips’. Sponsored videos or videos by brand channels are eligible, but the message of the video should have a value that goes beyond promoting a person, product, project, brand, charity or other organisation. Purely promotional videos are not eligible. ‘Video podcasts’ may enter, but the visual elements of any video entry should be a key part of how the video’s message is communicated. The winning video will be one that viewers want to watch to the end. Videos which can easily be listened to without the need to watch them are unlikely to be short-listed.
Entries may be standalone programmes/videos 3-20 minutes long or a 3-20 segment of another programme. This main programme does not need to be gardening- related, so the entry can be the gardening segment of, for example, a breakfast TV news programme.
Entry is open to all and is free to GMG members; a fee of £45 is applicable to non-member entrants. To qualify for free entry, someone who worked on the entry must be a GMG member.
This entry form must be complete by Thursday, 28th August 2025 and if your broadcast is not available to watch online, the file must be uploaded to dropbox by Thursday, 4th September 2025 for your entry to be accepted.
