For inspiring and accurate first-person experience or opinion writing about any aspect of gardening or the horticultural or garden retail industry.
For material published between Friday, 30th August 2024 and Thursday, 28th August 2025. Entries may be print, online or a combination of the two.
For the gardening writer, either with a regular column or writing across several different media, that leads opinion and captivates the reader with imagination, flair and high-quality writing in a style appropriate to the audience.
The judges are looking for evidence of the writer's technical and horticultural accuracy, and for content which is both original and an excellent read. This category is not judged on the design of the page or any accompanying photography but purely on the quality of the writing. Three pieces of work must be submitted.
Entry is open to all and is free to GMG members; a fee of £45 is applicable to non-member entrants.
