Biography

I have designed, built and planted gardens for over 20 years. A part-time garden maintenance job whilst studying English Literature at university was the beginning of a career in landscape which has included wide-ranging experience in construction and design, and has involved living in the UK, Southern France, and Spain. After uni I went on to study a PGDIP in garden design at the Oxford College of Garden Design, graduating with distinction in 2002. This was followed a few years later by a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from Greenwich University. Over my career I have worked for many high profile landscape and garden designers and have been a director and manager of a respected landscape construction company, including 12 years of involvement in planning and delivering gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show and other RHS shows. In 2018 I decided to set up my own practice and now lead a team of talented designers from my studio in hove, East Sussex. Career highlights have definitely been designing and building my own gardens at The Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 and 2022, and i'm very proud that both were awarded gold medals.

Additional Interests

When I have the time I love to write and have written a few pieces for various garden media and i'd love to write more. My first degree in English literature has certainly come in useful for this. I love the sea and am very fortunate to have it at the bottom of my road so often swim and surf.
