Biography

I am the creator of Old Bladbean Stud garden, where I have spent over 20 years developing an innovative approach to gardening that brings sustainability, resilience and aesthetics onto the same page by harnessing natural processes within a framework of artistic design techniques. I spend the summer months talking about my design and maintenance methods to visiting tour parties - work which developed into a book, In Nature’s Slipstream, communicating my methods to a wider audience. I devote five hours a day to tending my garden and spend the rest of my time writing and making jewellery inspired by the flowers in the garden and local wild plants.

Additional Interests

I am a keen amateur garden photographer and enjoy taking daily photos around my garden through the summer months, which I share every morning with my Facebook community. Other than that I spend all my spare time walking in the countryside, studying the wild plant communities and watching the landscapes change with the seasons.
