Biography

Jo Thompson is one of UK’s leading garden designers, known for creating gardens sensitive to their location and history. Her designs range from country estates to urban boltholes. She uses her innate understanding of a place to ensure her landscapes work seamlessly within their locations. Her exquisite planting has led her to be considered one of the UK’s leading plantswomen. Jo has won 9 RHS Chelsea Flower Show medals and People’s Choice at RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. She is a member of the RHS Gardens Committee, Garden Advisor for RHS Rosemoor, RHS Show Gardens Selection Panel and RHS Shows Judge. She is a speaker and tutors at London College of Garden Design. ‘The Gardener’s Palette’ was described by The Sunday Times as “sure to become a classic on the subject”. Jo writes the weekly 'The Gardening Mind' Substack.
