Biography

I studied horticulture at Hadlow College, and worked in nurseries and garden centres before moving into journalism. Working across trade titles (Garden Trade News, FloraCulture International) gives me expert knowledge of horticulture as a business and enables me to write confidently for consumer titles such as The English Garden and formerly as News Editor of The Garden, RHS journal.

Additional Interests

All aspects of gardening (especially new plant introductions) and nature pique my interest. Outside of 'work' I am a Trustee of Brodgale Collections - home of the National Fruit Collection, and member of the GMG committee. Near home I have set up an official Toad Patrol area which is recognised by the charity Froglife.
