Biography

Ben Thornton is an award-winning garden designer, content creator and disabled gardening advocate. His achievements include a Platinum Award at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2023, Britain’s Best Gardening Influencer 2021, Gardens Illustrated’s ‘30 to Watch’ and becoming a finalist for the Garden Media Guild’s Alan Titchmarsh New Talent Award. Known online as Ben The Grower, Ben reaches nearly 50,000 followers, with more than 10 million content views in the past year. He has appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World, written for horticultural publications and works with leading gardening brands. Paralysed aged 14, Ben is on a mission to make horticulture more accessible and inspire other disabled people to follow in his footsteps, proving that disability doesn’t stop you from gardening big, dreaming big and achieving big.
