Biography

Claudia Gaupp is an award-winning garden photographer based in Germany and working across Europe and the UK. Trained as an architect, she brings a strong sense of structure, light and composition to her photography. Her work ranges from classic garden views and visual garden stories to botanical portraits and fine-art floral photography. She is particularly interested in capturing the character of gardens and the relationships between plants, people and place, as well as the movement and fleeting qualities of flowers. Claudia undertakes editorial and horticultural commissions and is developing her work as a visual storyteller for publications and organisations across Europe. In the past six years, her photography has received 55 awards from the International Garden Photographer of the Year, including 12 podium places and 16 finalist awards, alongside recognition from the RHS, RPS, GMG, IPA and other leading photography competitions.

Selected accolades include: RHS Silver Medal at the Botanical Art & Photography Show, Saatchi Gallery (2026) Winner of the European Garden Photography Award, IGPOTY (2024 and 2026) RPS Silver Medal for an IGPOTY portfolio (2025) Finalist in the GMG Portfolio Photographer of the Year category (2024 and 2025) IPA Nature Photographer of the Year (2023), with the winning image exhibited in New York and Shenzhen. Claudia also has a particular interest in European gardens, garden culture and international horticultural exchange.
