Biography

Michael Griffiths is a gardening expert and author whose plain-English approach has built one of the UK’s largest gardening audiences. He began sharing his garden in 2022, documenting the transformation of a plot that had been entirely laid to concrete by its previous owners. Frustrated by advice that was either too technical to use or too beautiful to be useful, he set out to make the thing he’d been looking for himself: clear, practical guidance on what to do in the garden, and when to do it. That became The Easy Garden, a month-by-month guide to improving your outside space, and a following 1 million across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. His aim is to make gardening accessible to everyone, stripping out the jargon so people know which jobs actually matter, and when to do them.

Additional Interests

Away from the garden, Michael keeps bees with his father, a number of hives kept for honey and pollination. He’s drawn to the same quality in bee keeping and garden: neither is something you can rush, and both ask you to slow down and pay attention. Much of the rest of his time is spent outdoors with his family, cooking, entertaining, and making the garden somewhere to be lived in rather than simply looked after. He’s a firm believer that an evening spent doing nothing in the garden counts as time well spent.
