Biography

Ross Pearson is a professional horticulturist, lecturer, and writer based in the beautiful county of Northumberland. Currently a Lecturer of Horticulture and Heritage Crafts at Durham University, he continues to inspire the next generation of gardeners through education and outreach. Alongside his academic work, he is an established garden writer and columnist for Amateur Gardening and Homes & Gardens. He developed his horticultural expertise while serving as Senior Gardener at the world-renowned The Alnwick Garden and later held a lectureship in Horticulture at Northumberland College, where he trained students to become professional horticulturists of the highest standard. An award-winning gardener, Ross has achieved seven RHS Britain in Bloom Gold Medals and two Best in Category awards. His writing combines practical horticultural knowledge with a passion for heritage crafts, gardens, and the natural landscape of the North East.
