Biography

Award-winning RHS Chelsea Flower Show Designer, Gemma Haigh, is the founder of The Plant Parlour. Active in the online plant community since 2021, she believes passionately in sharing knowledge and encouraging young people to engage with horticulture. 'The Plant Parlour' began as a personal brand on Instagram, where Gemma posts about her love of houseplants. A website and blog soon followed, providing inspiration to people growing in their homes. Gemma has worked with brands like Hozelock, Squires Garden Centres, Fairview New Homes and Lechuza to produce collaborative content on social media. She's written for Garden Folk Magazine and produced commercial copy for retailers like Ivyline. She speaks at garden shows around the country, from Another Plant Swap to Devon County Show.

Additional Interests

Raised by gardeners, Gemma’s passion for plants shines through. In 2024, Gemma launched a consultancy and design business to help clients choose the right plants for their spaces. In her previous career, Gemma worked as a curator in museums, designing exhibitions, caring for collections and writing interpretation panels.
