Josh Taylor

Biography

Josh Taylor is a horticulturist, garden consultant and garden-maker. Trained at Great Dixter and in Countryside Management at Merrist Wood, his work is rooted in ecological, organic and biodiverse horticulture. He previously served as Head Gardener in nationally significant gardens, leading major restoration and long-term planting projects that shaped his practical expertise in garden stewardship and design. Josh now runs Taylor’s Organic Gardening, providing consultancy, design and ongoing garden development for clients. Alongside this, he creates reflective, narrative-led horticultural content through writing, photography and video, and shares ecological insight with an engaged Instagram audience of more than 21,800 followers. He has contributed to Blumenhaus magazine and has appeared on BBC Radio to discuss gardening techniques and seasonal practice. He is currently developing further long-form writing projects, including a forthcoming gardening book.
