Biography

A versatile and experienced media professional and consultant, operating nationally and internationally within print media and broadcast, garden design and photography. Author of nine books to date, including Ranunculus (March 2023), and RHS The Winter Garden (September 2023). Writing and Photography: Consumer magazines, national newspapers. Columns in Garden News. Contributes regularly to national titles including The Guardian, The Telegraph, Gardens Illustrated, The English Garden and RHS The Garden. Garden design: Available for design commissions. Particular expertise in meadows, woodland and orchards and naturalistic bulb planting. Winner of numerous awards as a show garden designer. Books: Lilacs, beautiful varieties for home and garden (Pavilion 2022); Lilies (Pavilion 2021); Hydrangeas (Pavilion 2020); Dahlias (Pavilion, 2018); An Orchard Odyssey, (Green Books, Sept '16); The Plant Lover’s Guide to Snowdrops (Timber Press, 2014).
