Stocktonbury Gardens & Frank P Matthews Double visit

Download Event to Calendar

I’m delighted to say we have a GMG visit to two locations, the stunning Stockton Bury Gardens, which was recently featured on BBC Gardeners World in June 2026 and in the afternoon an opportunity to visit one of the largest award winning tree nurseries in the UK, Frank P Matthews.

Programme:

Optional early entry to Stockton Bury to take photographs or create content

10am -  Meet for coffee

10.30 - Tour of garden by HG Tamsin Westhorpe

11.45 - Free to enjoy the garden

Approx 1pm - Leave for Frank Matthews, which will include, a tractor tour of the field and container unit, fruit tree tasting unique varieties, followed by tea and cake and a talk and walk around the shop.

The Stockton Bury Gardens team are looking forward to welcoming GMG and PGPA members on 16th Sept. Arrive at 10am for coffee and then Tamsin Westhorpe will give an hour tour of the garden and then you are free to enjoy the garden at your leisure. It’ll be a great opportunity to discover how the garden is managed and explore its history and unusual plants.

Frank P Matthews grow over one million container grown and bare root, fruit and ornamental trees every year for supply into garden centres, mail order companies, commercial growers and our very own Tree Shop.  The nursery grows the widest range of trees in the UK with over 200 different varieties of apple and many well-known and unusual fruit trees along with over 400 different varieties of ornamental trees from Acers to Zelkovas as well as hedging and soft fruit.  MD Steph Dunn James represents the fourth generation within family-run business Frank P Matthews Tree Nursery located in Worcestershire.
