Bernard van Giessen
Always interested in light and colour, I studied fine art in Holland but chose photography as my preferred medium. My commercial photography career started in the Dutch offshore industry when I photographed rigs, ships and factories. On moving to Ireland I turned my focus to gardens and architecture. I am a Dublin-based garden photographer and I travel across the country in a camper to photograph some of Ireland’s most iconic gardens and houses. Recent clients include: Hunting Brook in Co. Wicklow, Tourin House and Gardens in Co. Waterford, Blarney Castle and Gardens in Co. Cork, and Kilmacurragh Botanic Gardens in Co. Wicklow. During the summer months I give photography workshops in some of Ireland's most beautiful gardens.
