Liz Ware is a freelance garden writer, historian and photographer. She initiated and runs not-for-profit project Silent Space. She writes on all aspects of gardening, gardens and landscapes. Her work has appeared in many publications including RHS The Garden, National Trust Magazine, and The English Garden. After graduating from Exeter University, Liz worked in the City and abroad. When her children started school, she began studying again, gaining a First Class degree in the History of Art and Architecture and an MA in Garden History from Bristol University. Diplomas from The English Gardening School added to her knowledge of plants. Liz was a founding member of Berkshire Gardens Trust and a Trustee of The Association of Gardens Trusts. She recently completed three years on the management committee of the Landscape, Gardens and Health Network. She is a member of The Garden Media Guild and Professional Garden Photographers’ Association. Plants, gardens and landscapes have taken her to every corner of the globe but she is equally happy on her Oxfordshire allotment.
