Michael Holland FLS
Former Head of Education at Chelsea Physic Garden and expert ecologist, educator and author, Michael Holland, FLS is on a mission to educate and inspire people from all walks of life about the vital and numerous roles plants play in our daily lives - via talks, walks, workshops, podcasts and articles. His book 'I Ate Sunshine For Breakfast' was published in April 2020 (Flying Eye Books) and aims to inspire a new generation of plant lovers and horticulturists via amazing facts, beautiful illustrations and practical activities. He has recently written articles for 'Simply Beautiful Gardens Magazine' on wellbeing, Oriental gardens, Urban Gardening and engaging young people with nature. Michael delivered a series of four illustrated online lectures for the Gardens Trust in August 2020 entiltled 'Tales from the Fruit Bowl' - bringing to life some of our best loved fruits with facts about their botany, taxonomy, history, folklore, symbolism, ethnobotany and nutritional values. During lockdown he used his own suburban backgarden as an outdoor classroom for online audiences on plant families and their relevance to our lives.
