Biography

Selwa is a blogger, copywriter and journalist. After working for many years as an energy sector journalist, she switched to horticulture, and now writes about environmental topics, and growing and gardening the green way. She created and currently writes The Green Gardening Newsletter, a monthly round-up of green gardening advice, inspiration and news, with book and podcast recommendations on sustainable gardening. The newsletter is available for free by signing up on her blog: https://thenostalgicgardener.com/the-green-gardening-newsletter/ She also runs a series of workshops at her garden and allotment in Brussels, Belgium. Topics include: Gardening Basics, Veg Growing, Propagation Techniques and How to Design Beautiful Borders. She is just about to complete her RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture. Selwa has published articles in the gardening press and horticultural journals on gardening and microbiome, wild plant relatives and species extinction, sustainable floristry, no dig gardening and soil health. She writes regularly on her blog about her garden and allotment.
